design for a wedding

Two friends from the heart got married and the best gift I could give them was to help with the design of their rustic wedding in the countryside. I have no credit in the beautiful decoration, I just put into practice the ideas of the bride and groom in some of the materials and did my best to outgrow their expectations.
The theme of the wedding was around trees (each dining table was assigned a different one), and we worked with reclaimed wood for all the materials (my good friend Ruben was the perfect carpenter for this project). There were also two birds appearing here and there. The paper used in the menus was 100% cotton handmade in Portugal. We had ecological concerns in every aspect of the wedding and were very happy to learn the day they chose for the ceremony would also be the Earth Hour Day, which was celebrated by turning off all the lights for 1 hour in the evening.
I LOVED doing the menus, the seating charts, the name tags, the origamis, the props for the ring-bearer and the big wood frame saying "No longer two but one". That's what we witnessed on that beautiful day, two people becoming one and really having the happiest day of their lives. I was very pleased to help and grateful and honoured for the trust put in me. Considering all the time I spend at the computer every week, the hours painting and getting my hands dirty were a very refreshing experience that I started looking forward to while doing my day job.
All the best to you André and Sueli, thank you for including me in this special day and know that I'm here to help make your family moments more beautiful any time :)
The really nice pictures are from Hugo Coelho (see more here), the crappy ones that show the process and some details during the wedding day are mine.
Thank you Afonso for your skills in engraving an intricate monogram in a small wood box.
And thank you Mom for your expertise in trees and shared love for recycled paper.
