Logo & Website Design

Cuidar a Mente

This is a co-working space for psychologists based in Évora, Portugal and the name means “Care for the Mind”.
Marta, the manager and also a psychologist, reached out to me to create a logo that mirrored the environment she also wanted to transmit in her office: comfort and embrace.
She ended up picking up another proposal for the logo so the website I designed has a completely different look.

Cloud organisation of the briefing given in the beginning, with sentences like "we're human and empathic" or "I like blue"

Main version

I decided to design a more playful logo to take away the weight (still) associated with mental health.

It is meant to convey empathy, closeness and warmth.

The main logo. It's a very light yellow circle with the words "Cuidar a mente" around it shaping the hair of this face. There's also a nose, eyes and mouth in a peaceful shape in the middle of the circle.

Complete version

Very oriented towards the human side, everything is free hand drawn to make it lighter and give the impression of something that is not forever, just as psychological treatment is not expected to be.

The full logo, where only the circle expands, all the rest stays the same, and we see now "Psicologia e Saúde Mental" as a tagline

Type & Color

I wanted the logo to trigger a big smile the first time people saw it and then on all collateral material (it is quite flexible in terms of emotions!).

An image divided in 3 sections. The first one with the light yellow circle with different emotions and without expressions. The second section shows the used typefaces and how the whole alphabet looks like in each one. Third section is color palette.
Mockups of how the logo would work in business cards or a tote bag, on top of a playful background.

Slogan

I also created the slogan that was later used. It means:

Caring for the mind

is for everyone

The simple logo that says "Cuidar a mente", which means "Caring for the mind", and then the tagline "É para todos", which means "it's for everyone".
